Hello, Dali!

I automatically was drawn to the creativity and uniqueness of Dali's work.  Every piece of art he created is so out of the box and inspiring.  I would love to be able to think creatively like he did.  Artists like Dali should inspire everyone to get outside of their comfort zone and explore new things.
Dali went through three phases of art.  He went through Cubism, Futurism, and Metaphysical painting, and led the Surrealist Movement because of his outrageous-looking paintings.  Dali's trip to Italy in 1937 changed his views, and he took on a more traditional approach to art.  His wife, Gala, was the center of many of his works.  During World War 2, they retreated together to the United States.  They lived successfully and Dali's works only grew more and more popular and controversial.
I think Dali is interesting because he lived in a time where art was not a huge focus.  War was the focus of his time, yet Dali still made a name for himself.  I find that to be incredible, and it inspires me to reach out to people and to make a name for myself.
